I had a wonderful experience with Tyler and Kathleen! We got quotes from several companies and selected Ohio Radon Specialists because it seems like a small business done right. There are risks and rewards with going with a smaller company working on building themselves up and I'm happy to report that this company is firmly in the "reward" category. The costs were the lowest, but that isn't why I chose them. Of all the people we had out to get free estimates from, Tyler was the only one who went into the crawlspace to see what he'd be working with. He wasn't in a hurry, and he was quoting for a job he'd be completing instead of being a sales person handing off the manual labor to someone else. It is his company, started after many years of experience in the field, and so he is clearly deeply invested in doing the job right and making people happy. Kathleen handled the scheduling and was a complete sweetheart. Tyler came out on a Saturday to get the information needed for a quote and said we'd be emailed it by the end of the day on Monday. Monday afternoon Kathleen called to apologize for the delay, letting me know there was an email error so it had just been sent now instead of in the morning, offering to answer any questions since I had her on the phone. I hadn't even expected an email by then and so was impressed by that level of care and follow up. We started off with an average reading of ~40 pCi/L (estimate based on AirThings home monitor and not a professional test), and after going with the medium fan we brought it down to 8.0. We then upgraded to the larger fan which got us to 2.2! The crawlspace encapsulation looks fantastic too, especially compared to the dirt floor it started with. As a bonus: we already have fewer bugs in the basement! Tyler noticed a hole that rodents were probably using while he was in there, and so filled it with spray foam before putting plastic over it to help keeps mice from chewing right through the sheet. The placement was fantastic too, working around items we already had on the exterior of the house and going into the floor in a way that didn't disrupt the waterproofing we had installed or the location of the litterbox that our cat *demands* be in that specific corner. I don't have a good picture of it, but the pipe going into the crawlspace is near, but not touching, other pipes that are going into the opening. Really, I can't say enough good things about these guys. It was so easy to work with them, especially since installation can happen on Saturday's if you are willing to wait a few weeks for an opening in the schedule. Communication is excellent, the work is high quality and effective, and the prices are fair. I wish them all the best with their business, because the world needs more companies like this in it! While I hope to never move again... if I or anyone I know needs radon remediation in the future I will certainly be calling them again.

5 stars for Ohio Radon Specialist!!! Tyler came out and installed our system and answered all of our questions. Our Radon level was 7.7, after Tyler installed our system our radon level is now .4. Anything below a 4 is considered a safe level. He was very professional and did a great job! I would recommend Ohio Radon Specialist to anyone who needs a Radon system. Great job Tyler!

The company was responsive with timely scheduling. Tyler was knowledgeable and explained eveything to me thoroughly so I could make an informed decision. The job was done well and the mitigation system lowered my extremely high radon levels quickly. I would recommend.

This was one of the smoothest projects we have ever had done in our homes, previous and current. From the first call to the last point when we got control test results. Kathleen and Tyler were able to accommodate our schedule and install the system on Saturday, this was a great help. In the process of installing Tyler discovered an issue with our electrical wiring and he was able to find a very creative solution to that which added extra work and he didn't charge for it. Our test result came the avarage of 0.2 from 4.6. We are very satisfied and will recommend this company with zero hesitation.

Ohio Radon did an OUTSTANDING job with the installation of our Radon abatement system. Tyler is the owner and installer. He is extremely knowledgeable and did a great job to exceed our expectations. Wow! If you are in need of testing or mitigation, Ohio Radon Specialists is the way to go. My neighbor recommended this company to me since they just had a mitigation system installed. With all the research I did online to find a quality, affordable, and certified radon company, I'm glad I went with these guys; they are true professionals. Tyler was awesome, he knows what he’s talking about and does the job right. Any questions I had were answered and he showed me a few things as he was installing the system, just to educate me. I like to understand what’s going on and how systems work, and he kindve sensed that, so I appreciated it. Definitely will refer him and his company to friends. Kathleen was awesome to work with too!
